When she was 19, she released her debut single Here. It received praise from music critics and listeners. The single peaked at 19th on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of 2015. Her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five tracks that made it to the top spots on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. In an interview that Cara gave in conjunction with Rap Up, the track had lots of significance for a lot of the listeners who related to her tale of learning to accept and love yourself. Cara's music is known to be filled with messages of kindness as well as self-love and mental wellbeing. The music she sings is reflective of her own struggles in dealing with anxiety and depression. According to a Reuters interview, her album is described as semi-tumultuous and half-perfected. People have told her that she discovered her development through therapy. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician born in Canada on 11 July 1996, was a daughter of Italian parents of Italian descent. The guitar was gifted to her by her parents when she turned 10 which ignited the passion for music. Three years later, when she was 13, she began singing songs she loved via YouTube. It proved to be a fantastic opportunity to show others her talent and courage. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and write her own songs.
